KEM Homes Construction, Inc. is a member of Built Green® Colorado. Built Green® Colorado has become the most successful program of its kind in the nation. Local and national surveys continue to show a rising level of consumer demand for "green" and energy efficient homes.

Colorado homebuyer awareness of the Built Green® brand continues to grow as demonstrated by research conducted by The Genesis Group and Thomas, Taber and Drazen. In 2006 homebuyer awareness of Built Green® was 46% of those aware of Built Green®. 6 in 10 stated that Built Green® was a factor in their home purchase decision, and 6 in 10 said it would be a factor in their next new home purchase decision. Both Builder and Professional Builder magazines have recognized green building as one of the most important trends in residential construction today.

Criteria of a Built Green Home. Every home registered with the program must meet the program's criteria. These criteria, contained in the Built Green Checklist, include an energy efficiency requirement and a menu of options addressing a range of items from which the builder must select to reach a minimum point total. Every builder may build "green" a little differently due to the range and number of options available under the checklist. Only those homes registered in the program may receive the Built Green designation.
